I think (happy to be corrected) he is left footed which probably increases his chances a little.

Congratulations to him - still think we need another more experienced CB to make 4 senior CBs in the squad with 2 younger long term prospects

I also wonder if this means that he will take Mee's spot in the squad and we won't sign a new CB this summer.

Personally I would be happy with that, I think this kid is mustard and a future England international in the making.

Everyone I have spoken to (from peterborough) has said he has a bright future. Apparently has the potential to be in the England squad in the future. rated very very highly.

We definitely do not need to sign another Centre Back! Two senior Centre Backs and two youngsters all as reserves. Surely we can managed with 6 centre backs. I wonder if Fredericks and Stephenson will go on loan?

The little I’ve seen of Stephenson he looks incredibly composed if this fellas ahead of him he must be decent

It would appear that more often than not it is senior B team players who get loaned out. There is a massive amount of learning that takes place when training with established first team players. I doubt that either Kim or Arthur require toughening up in a lower league. So yes a good chance of some minutes.

Would indicate we aren’t looking to bring in another Centre back unless very opportunistically someone we have been tracking becomes available at a decent price.

I might be wrong but I thought Stephenson was only 17 years old, so no surprise that Arthur is ahead of him.

You are correct 18 years on 4th September. Yes, no surprise but he is a very big powerful lad a real beast. No wonder Millwall were unhappy to lose him. We must have paid a good few Bob in compensation.

Massive opportunity to him. Remember seeing a B team video where the players were asked 'who spends the most time in the gym' and the unanimous answer was Benji Arthur. Hopefully he lives up to the billing.

Played a low-risk game, but I can bet I wasn't the only one who thought "do we even need Ajer now?".

Looked very assured. You can see why the Van Dijk comparisons are made (no pressure, Benjy!).

Slightly lucky not to concede a pen though?

Tried to watch him a bit in the first half. Got a little caught out of position once and got done on the halfway line once. But generally he looked really relaxed and confident which was great to see for such a young lad. He was also quite vocal so clearly felt he belonged at that level. Definitely one to be excited about for the future!

How impressive was that? 19 years old and playing on the ‘wrong’ side for a right footer. Well done young man 👏

Done the simple things, and did not look out of place.
