It really isn't as cut and dried as you appear to confidently flesh out in your barbed but not unsurprisingly robust reply, as evidenced by LongLostBee's post (#2927) on the subject.
Being called out by some on here as being overly negative is hardly indicative of anything other than push back...
The original post y'day was regarding goals from open play away from home in the PL this season...and in the other 7 games we managed to match the total we scored against West Ham.
Happy to be erroneously called a Negative Nancy in pointing out this fact btw.
I included it in my original post as the outlier....and went on to discuss the other 7 away matches.
Thanks for relaying my original post from y'day btw.
I think most of the content that's been generated since Saturday's defeat was regarding our away record......and to this end I'd just like to highlight that (excluding West Ham), we have scored two goals from open play in the other 7 PL games.....Igor's header up at the SoL and Mikkel's open...
We've scored 2 solitary goals from open play on the road in the PL this season....and one of those was a gimme against Putney.
I'm not sure what people were expecting against this lot, given our approach is incredibly one-dimensional away from the confines of the Gtech.
The concerning thing for me is that Spurs haven't suddenly turned a corner, they've been consistently awful for a good 2 months and every team I've seen them playing against have been able to play themselves quite easily into the game.
I don't think the wholesale swapping out of players and the formation tinkering midweek has helped in knitting together any patterns of play.
You build momentum from a solid base and continuity in processes/practices......and that's something that's been missing in our approach this season.
