I remember people berating him for looking lazy even in that game, before he suddenly scored two and then missed that pen.

I'd imagine that miss on its own didn't make a lot of difference.

Genuinely interested in your opinion here - do you think he’d have been up to it if played up front? I saw a guy who shy’d away from headers, trying to hold up the ball and generally putting himself about a bit!

He wasn't getting in the team at that central striker ahead of Donaldson and Trotta and later Scott Hogan.

I think it was a case of start on the bench each week or play as a wide man, unless the no. 1 choices were injured...

He must’ve been wearing roller skates that day. Only explanation for it.

That was an outrageous performance in a bad way. Complete lack of any effort at all. Think it was a good day out though. Conga on the concourse or was that other year?

The whole team were on the piss since the good Friday so perhaps not a good game to assess him.

He hasn’t had a prolific season (or reached double figures) for 5 years.

But he’s still only 31 and dropping 2 divisions to play for a team who should be competing for the National League title could see him score plenty.

Chesterfield will be one of the favourites for promotion now that wrexham & County are out of the way. And they are probably a lot better than most of the teams in the bottom half of L2. He could easily be 'on fire' come the end of the season!

He was a strange one. We often have players who perform at their best with us and never repeat that form when they move on. But he was apparently pretty good everywhere but with us.

He was played out of position on the wing by Rösler for most of his time for us and up front for everyone else.
