Final Score MK Dons vs Brentford (EFL Trophy)

MK Dons vs Brentford (EFL Trophy)

Even this U21 have 8 staff on the bench. And that's without those attending to Bentt.

Charlie Goode was down comforting Bentt which tells me i) what a decent pro Goode is and ii) it’s going to be a very nasty injury.

2 sets of medical staff and St John’s Ambulance is a very worrying sign.

St John’s Ambulance will be just there to carry the stretcher.

Take Luca off by the shortest route and a trek around the pitch. Meanwhile the kit left behind gets carried off by the shortest route.

The players that went to check on Bentt after it happened were looking away and pulling their shirts over their face. One of the medics also signalled to the bench by crossing his arms. Its clearly something bad.

So. Charlie Goode not only scores but also puts our best player in hospital.
Oh, and Nunes doesn’t seem able to get past him either.

Tremendous.

Crossed arms just means "substitution required"

He did mark Ronaldo out of a game once remember.

Second goal given after the MK winger gets a handful of the defender’s shirt, but the ref allows play to continue. Ridiculous non-decision.

A dry bumming from the franchise 🤢

Been really disappointed with this display. These boys are better than this.

Gifting the ball time and again playing out from the back.

Apart for a few minutes before their third we haven’t got out of our half.

Sure Luka’s injury will impact them. Many of this team can be so much better

I reckon there’s about 100 bees in the away end here. A very challenging half for the young bees but we’ve still managed to fashion a few very decent chances. MK have put a good team out and we are getting bullied in the middle of the pitch. Thoughts are with Luka, who has only just come back from an injury. Unclear what the injury was from here, I presume broken leg?

A few moans about Gustavo. He has been involved in many of the few (yes a contradiction of terms) positives.

That said, tonnes of work to be done on the defensive side tracking back

Against a professional league team, it's exactly as expected.

Year after year, PL teams richer than us put their kids out and they get turned over as well. It would be awful if a PL team got to the final of this competition.

Part of me thinks it's good they get the experience of playing a men's team. The other part of me (3rd division Brentford) thinks that PL teams should have no part in a cup that should be reserved for lower league clubs.

Our best opportunities have come when we've attacked with pace and got in behind them. A lot of the time though, when we have had possession, it's been slowed down. Possibly not wanting to risk further loss of possession and a tonking.
It's very definitely been men vs. boys so far.
Loads of stewards around which is a bit weird when there are so few here. And they were giving everybody a completely over the top, full-on pat down and searching on the way in. Far more than I've experienced in a long while. I told them it was all a bit overkill and what were they really fearing when we're about a 100m from the next batch of fans. All unnecessary though they did say it was compulsory for every away fan at every game. Certainly not something I've experienced on my travels of late.
Scummy club.

Yes agree. The team we put out is capable of better I would suggest. Some of the closer watchers of the B / U21 I am sure could provide a more accurate opinion and maybe destroy mine 🤷‍♂️

It’s really what you expect when a weakened team with no forwards comes up against a decent, strong Division One team.

Nunes certainly didn’t look up to it unfortunately.

Is this turning in a nightmare and shows why no u21 side won this competition

The young boys are getting a bit of a battering, but this is a great test for them; not just physically, but mentally as well, especially at the injury to Luca and now down to x10 men.

It takes a lots of effort to keep focused in these circumstances with MK continuing to play at a pretty decent pace which will take its toll.

They’re going to be very disappointed, but they will come back stronger after gaining the experience of this evening.
